EVENT RECAP

Our Spring Croton sale opened with tremendous energy, and the pace stayed brisk throughout the first day. Sunday brought a gentler flow, giving us a chance to reconnect with old friends and welcome new ones. The weekend ended on a memorable note when our final customer arrived just as a long-awaited rainstorm swept in during the last minutes of the sale. Undaunted, she continued to shop blissfully under an umbrella. After weeks of dry weather and talk of possible water restrictions, the rain made for a joyful finish.

We were delighted to welcome visitors and collectors from our neighborhood and across South Florida to Sarasota, and even to the Dominican Republic, thanks in large part to the outreach of our friend Marie Nock, a beloved authority in the croton world. Many others in the plant community helped spread the word, and we are grateful for their support.

Jonathan joined us with a selection of his own plants, and the weekend has inspired him to consider hosting regular sales at his home in East Kendall. As for us we are already thinking ahead to the next year. With cold weather finally behind us, preparations begin immediately. Our goal is to offer a selection as strong as this year’s and to keep improving with each season.

We also look forward to seeing many of you at upcoming plant society gatherings. The Tropical Fern & Exotic Plant Society meets on the last Monday evening of each month at Fairchild Tropical Garden. We encourage all plant enthusiasts to join.

For those who purchased plants, we hope you were able to take advantage of our first proper rainfall of the year. With warmer days ahead, now is the ideal time for landscaping, and we trust your new additions will settle in beautifully.

Thank you all for your support, your enthusiasm, and your friendship. We look forward to seeing you again next year.
