Origin
A chance seedling found growing near our old-timer Nestor, sharing his narrow, lance shaped leaves but with entirely different coloring. Mature leaves are deep green with bold yellow patterning along the midrib, veins, and margins, plus scattered yellow speckling; new growth emerges solid green before the variegation develops. Young plants show broader, paler cream banding that deepens to yellow with age.
Propagated by air layering. Thriving in partial shade under our large oak trees, named for Marie Nock, a dear friend and longtime croton collector.
